Maximum and Minimum Temperatures
Daily maximum and minimum temperatures are an important part of the GLOBE atmospheric protocols. In this ativity you will:
- practice reading a max-min thermometer
- find an area in the world where the maximum and minimum temperature differ by more than 50 degrees
Click on the following link. This will take you to a simulation of a max-min thermometer. Follow the directions on the page and read the temperatures as directed. Continue to do the simulation until you can read all the temperatures without a mistake. Once you are finished use the BACK button on your browser to return to this page.

- What was the maximum and the minimum temperature of any day in January 2001 at a school in Flordia?
- What was the maximum and the minimum temperature at the same school ona day in August?
