Overview:  The purpose of this project is to investigate the International Space Station.  Using inquiry skills, you will discover facts, compare and contrast information, and have fun learning about the International Space Station.
 

Directions:  Read the following questions and use the internet to find your answers.  Some web links have been provided for you.  Feel free to explore other related web sites.

1.  What is the International Space Station?

2.  Discuss the robotics involved in the Space Station.

3.  What was the first American space station?  When was it created?

4.  List the countries involved in the creation of the International Space Station.

5.  Use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the International Space Station with the first American
     space station.

6.  Which country launched the first space station?  What is it called?

7.  Compare the size of the International Space Station to that of the Mir.

8.  What were the responsibilities of the United States in the creation of the International Space Station?
     (What parts were we responsible for?)

9.  Select five other countries involved in creating the space station and describe their responsibilities.

10.Find a current news report on the International Space Station.  Write a summary of the article.
