The Science House is delighted to announce partnership in the
Mathematics and Science Teachers'
Educational Renewal Partnership
(MASTER Partnership)
Other partners are Alamance-Burlington Schools, Davidson County Schools, Lexington City Schools, Stokes County Schools, and Thomasville City Schools.
The three-year MASTER Project serves 50 teachers from the five participating school districts. Starting in January 2006, participating teachers will
- Take content courses for teachers in mathematics and science, taught by NCSU faculty
- Benefit from coaches who will visit their classrooms and provide just-in-time support for lesson improvement
- Participate in workshops and other activities that provide pedagogical support
Mathematics and science courses, coordinated by The Science House and taught by NC State faculty, link key topics in mathematics with key topics in the physical, life, and earth sciences. All course topics are also tied closely to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and carry university credit appropriate for use in graduate degree programs.
This exciting and innovative program is sponsored by the statewide Mathematics and Science Partnership grant program, administered by the NC Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI).
