Student
Symposium 2003

The first
annual Bennett’s Millpond Environmental Learning Project
Symposium was a great success. Student teams presented their three-month
research projects to the local citizens and the professional community
on May 14th, 2003 at Albemarle Learning Center in Edenton, NC.
The research presentations were complimented by displays of the
student work, as well as high interest displays of water quality
testing procedures, GIS information and local climate graphs assembled
by the lead teachers. The students were pleased at the large number
of attendees and were eager to share their procedures and outcomes
with the group. An open house was held for three hours following
the formal presentations where the students informally talked
about their work and demonstrated the project technology equipment
such as the Vernier probes for water quality and the Palm m515
units for collecting data.
