Bennett’s Millpond Project Summer Academy

It perks first interests in this field of work and allows, also, other opportunities for those who don't get a first "pull" or interest from the Millpond. Each year, the Bennett’s Millpond Project will sponsor a weeklong summer training session that maintains continuity of the program from year to year. The general goals and objectives of the summer program are outlined below:

Goals

1. Increase Technology Expertise
2. Strengthen Team Interaction
3. Introduce Specialty Content

Objectives:

1. Provide opportunity for equipment practice and troubleshooting with technology specialists
2. Create a comfortable learning environment by using peer-to-peer training resources
3. Reinforce protocols for water quality and meteorological testing/data
4. Introduce detailed content and field experiences using local and state experts
5. Build the team spirit through special events, extended web forum discussion and data sharing via the internet
