• If we had water that was constantly flowing at a steady rate into a container and when this container reaches it max. capacity it completely empties and auto. Starts another constant flow of water into another container
• So, every time that one conductor/container fills its recorded as being one minute and each drop is considered a second
• Each minute is used to keep up with the time.
