THE BLACK WIDOW DRIVER

This is a web page for a research project to design the best driver in golf. My name is Michael Norris(GO CAROLINA!),and my research partner is Alicia East(GO DUKE!). We studied the drivers made by many different retailers to see what they think works best. We also did research on computer programs to see what parts of the club help with distance and accuracy. We also analyzed video of swings. We dicovered many different things about a golf club and the game of golf. We think this is the best driver ever conceived by a human. THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT!!

Our BLACK WIDOW driver has a longer shaft to increase the speed of the club head. The shaft is made of graphite to lessen the weight of the shaft. This allows for a more weighted club head. The total length of the club is 48". This allows you to hit the ball further than ever.

We researched what the best size and shape the head of the golf club should be. These were our findings:

Each trial is set off by four dashes. The first number is the distance. The second and third numbers are the angles of the balls in radians and degrees.

We found that the head with the biggest sweet spot was wide and tall. This information would be helpful in shooting a distance shot. With the information that we gathered it would be possible to design the perfect club which is what we think we have done. For those of you who don't know what a sweetspot is it is the point or points on an object where you can hit it and feel no force. In our research we discovered the sweetspot of different objects by determining the area where, when hit, the golfball would go off in a line less than 1° off its starting position. We think that the best material for the head of a golf club would be titanium. The club head is perimeter weighted on the inside of the club.
