PURPOSE

How fast does a 1985 Honda Accord have to travel to completely leave the ground when traveling up a 1 degree ramp.

HYPOTHESIS

The car will have to go 75 mph to completely clear the ramp.

PROCEDURE

Matierals : Matchbox car, ramp, launcher, photogates, meter stick, box of sand

Step 1: Scale down a 1985 Honda Accord to matchbox car settings.
Step 2: Set up ramp with a 1 degree angle and a sandbox to measure the distance the car travels.
Step 3: Setup car and launcher.
Step 4: Setup photogate at the end of the ramp to test the speed of the matchbox car.
Step 5: Test car at the four settings on the launcher.
Step 6: Record the speeds and the distances in the air for each setting.
