Conclusion
-
Our results were not as conclusive as we had hoped for. The
data did not show any significant change in the muscle temperature or heart
rate when the height of the bicycle seat was changed.
-
The bicycle rider noticed increased difficulty as the seat
was lowered.
-
Our data could have been affected by us using only one CBL
and calculator instead of two. With two CBLs and calculators we could have
simutaniously measured the rider's heart rate and muscle temperature.
-
The EKG's readings could have been off. There is a possibility
that there could have been an error when converting the EKG's readings
to beats per minute.
-
In further experiments we can use the temperature probe to
get the temperature of other muscles, and use a EMG in order to calculate
the muscle activity of various muscles in the leg.
Also, we can run trials using different riders so that we
can compare and see if how they compare.
