Introduction
It was decided that for our project we would compare the fractal dimensions of various mountain ranges and determine the relationship between the fractal dimensions and the average elevation.
Topographical Quadrangle (contour) maps of certain mountain ranges in the United States were analyzed in a fractal dimension program using two different methods.
The resulting data was used to determine how the fractal dimensions relate to the average elevation of the mountain ranges.
