About this Site

Overview
This web site is a collection of inquiry-based lesson using data from the NOAA/NESDIS website. The lesson will help you understand various issues involving weather and our oceans using current satellite data from the NOAA/NESDIS website.

Goals

  • Identify questions and concepts that guide scientific investigations.
  • Design and conduct scientific investigation.
  • Use technology to improve investigations and communications.

The lessons are designed to help students create a hypothesis, research it, and make a concluion about different topics, using the NOAA/NESDIS website to find data for research. The teacher will act as a guide helping students come up with a valid hypothesis, learn methods to research your hypothesis, and ways to find appropriate data to support your hypothesis. This lesson will give examples of questions and supporting data so that students can come up with questions and supporting data of their own.
