The Teacher Pioneers Project
CBL/MBL Train-the-Trainer Technology Workshop
July 14-18, 2008, Jacksonville, NC
A workshop for middle school and high school science teachers.
Funded by Golden Leaf Foundation

- Integrate technology and inquiry into your classroom while meeting the NC Standard Course of Study.
- Improve student achievement in science and math.
- Share your new skills and knowledge with your fellow teachers.
If these are things you want to accomplish, and you teach in Caldwell and surrounding counties then this workshop is for you. The Teacher Pioneers Project provides 12 dedicated teachers five days of intensive training. The training will focus on the use of the TI-84+ Calculator, Mac Computers, LabPro interface and numerous probeware including:
- Temperature
- pH
- Motion
- Light
- Pressure
- Conductivity
- Heart Rate Monitor
Teachers will receive:
- 3.0 CEU’s
- Access to a classroom set of CBL and MBL equipment and probeware that will be available for loan to the participating teachers during the following school year.
- $500.00 stipend. Half of the stipend will be paid at the conclusion of the workshop. The remaining stipend will be paid upon completion of the “Train-the-Trainer” workshop requirement.
- Extensive technology and content support during and after the workshop to assure that teachers are successful and comfortable integrating this exciting technology into their curriculum.
Train-the-Trainer Requirements:
- Attendees will be expected to conduct a 3-hour CBL and/or MBL workshop for the science teachers at their schools.
- Attendees will also serve as a CBL/MBL technical resource for their school.

Workshop Dates
The workshop will be held 8:30am–3:30pm, July 14-July 18, 2008 in Room 605, Northside High School, 365 Commons Drive South, Jacksonville, NC, 28546.
