Place Based Learning

Place Based Learning (PBL) is a way of approaching inquiry science by rooting lessons and projects in the unique, local environment of the students - their school and community.  This focus on experiential learning based on a place that students are familiar with provides an opportunity for students to not only learn but contribute to the improvement of their community.

The Science House works with teachers, schools and communities to develop successful strategies for teaching students the process of science through environmental field observations, collaboration, and content connected to local resources while integrating curriculum goals and technology skills
