Relating Genetics to Everyday Life Kits

The following activity kits are availabe to North Carolina biology teachers who teach within a 2 hour drive of Raleigh (or are willing to come pick up the kits). Most necessary materials (except microscopes and some glassware) are provided and classroom assistance may be available.

LEGO DNA Sequencing Simulation Kit
The purpose of this exercise is to use a manipulative model to demonstrate the principles behind DNA sequencing. Students will work together to determine the sequence of an unknown DNA fragment.

Biotechnology Equipment
These kits contain a power supply, 4 electrophoresis chambers, thermal cycler, cyclotron and micropipetors with tips for experiments of your choice. 2 kits are available.
