High
School Biology Teacher Workshop
at the University of Arizona
Genomics Follow-up Workshop
Saturday, April 1, 2006
High School Biology teachers are invited to attend a
free, one-day workshop on the University of Arizona campus from 9:00
am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2006. The workshop is a follow
up to a weeklong workshop on genetics offered in June 2005, and preference
will be given to teachers who attended the summer workshop. If space
is available, other teachers will be invited to attend this one-day
session after January 15. Participants will hear researchers talk about their current
work, learn about ways to involve their students in research, and spend
time discussing ways in which the materials and resources can be used
in real classrooms.
Participating teachers will receive a stipend of $75 (pending funding)
and 0.6 CEU credits for attending the full day of the workshop.
Registration: This workshop is available to teachers who participated in the summer workshop. After January 15, if spots are still available, registration will open to other Arizona teachers.
This workshop is made possible through a collaborative
agreement among the National Science Foundation, North Carolina State
University, University of Arizona, and universities in five other states.
