What resources do you have to help me teach?

Looking for a program, workshop or fieldtrip? Check out The Science House searchable database of programs for NC students and educators at http://www.science-house.org/k12-directory/ !

Teaching science in the classroom is not always easy. We understand that and hope some of the materials here help you. We recommend teaching science using hands-on and inquiry based activities. If you are unfamiliar with this, check out "Inside the Classroom" for reasons to use these kinds of activities and tips for successfully completing hands-on activities in the classroom.

We conduct several hands-on environmental science education workshops in the summer. Click on "Workshops" to learn more about these. In our workshops we cover some of the activities found in our middle and high school manuals. You can request free copies by choosing "Manuals" on the left. For more things to do, check out "Activities" to learn about some of the activities we complete with students on our visits. Our newsletters are another source of free information. Subscribe under "Newsletters". Other educators also provide a wealth of information. Please use our "Idea Swap" page to share your thoughts. This is located under "Inside the Classroom".

For more information about our scientists and their work, along with activities related to their research, check out the "Meet Scientists" page. Please check out our green chemistry information and information about the futures available to students in chemistry and chemical engineering by selecting the pages from the left menu bar.
