How to Use a CBL

We believe that learning must be active to be meaningful. Therefore, the best way to learn how to use a CBL is to use a CBL. These activities are written for the beginner with little or no CBL experience. They are appropriate for the math or science classroom and almost every grade level. Both the temperature and light probes come with the CBL system. These laboratories are also linked to the state and national standards.

Temperature Response Time Laboratory
: use the temperature probe and determine how long it takes for the probe to record an accurate value. This activity uses the time graph option.

Intensity of Light Laboratory : use the light probe to discover the relationship between light intensity and distance. This activity uses the trigger prompt option.
